Vic Regulations Amended

The Victorian government has made amendments to the OHS Regulations, which take effect from 1 st July 2014.

  • We will provide more details next month, but the key changes include:
  • Removes Reg. 2.1.2 - Provision of information instruction and training.
  • Removes Reg. 3.5.50 – Items of plant to be registered.
  • Amends Reg. 3.6.1 e.g. Licence not required for plant if only installing, commissioning or
  • maintaining item. Still need a licence if loading plant on or off a transport vehicle.
  • Removes Reg. 4.1.16 – Currency of MSDS. No longer required to renew MSDS every 5 years,
  • but MSDS must still be current.
  • Changes requirement for Principal Contractor to projects > $350,000.
  • Employer is no longer required to keep a record of all construction induction cards (CIC).
  • Design of non-powered amusement structures no longer needs to be registered with VWA.
  • Tractors with a forklift attachment no longer require a forklift licence.
