NT WorkSafe Warns against “Cheap Online Courses for White Cards

Construction workers in the Northern Territory are required to undertake face-to-face general construction induction training (GCIT), as are workers in most Australian states and territories. Workers, who complete GCIT in the Northern Territory, will be issued a ‘NT white card’ as proof of their training.

In recent months, NT WorkSafe has rejected invalid certificates issued by "fake online training providers". Employers are reminded that online white card training is not accepted NT.  Workers must complete face-to-face training with an approved registered training organisation (RTO). A list of approved RTOs are found on NT WorkSafe website here

Employers should accept only the NT white card, issued by NT WorkSafe or recognised interstate white card which can be viewed here.

Employers in other Australian states and territories should also confirm their white card training provider is an approved RTO in their state, prior to paying for any training.
