WorkSafe to Issue On-The-Spot Fines

Last month WorkSafe Victoria announced it will start issuing more infringement notices, as part of budgetary measures. In other words, issue on-the-spot fines to help increase revenue.

Infringement notices have been available to the safety authorities for some time, but they have rarely been used. However, it is possible that on-the-spot fines might be more appropriate for many circumstances and save the state a lot in court costs and time.
