National Safe Work Month 2026 Theme “Safe Work is for Life”

Safe Work Australia has announced this October’s Safety month theme: Safe Work is for Life. The theme reminds workers to recognise that workplace health and safety affects a person's entire life - their health, wellbeing, family, future earning capacity, and quality of life.

“The choices we make at work today can affect workers for years, decades, or even a lifetime.”

Prepare your Safety Month promotions to remind workers of the importance of being protected from:

• Occupational diseases, such as silicosis.

• Psychological injuries- for example due to Fatigue and burnout, bullying or harassment.

• Musculoskeletal disorders.

• Hearing loss.

• Exposure to hazardous substances.
