Reckless Worker Fined $24,000

A crane driver who by-passed safety devices on his crane in order to lift loads exceeding the rated capacity has been fined $20,000, plus $4,000 in court costs.

The Victorian Magistrate’s Court also heard there was unsafe dogging practices occurring across the site, and CCTV footage of people under suspended loads.

In this case no charges were laid against the business, only the reckless worker.
