WorkSafe Updates High Risk Work Licence

WorkSafe Victoria is rolling out a new High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) card from October 2026, introducing enhanced security features to help reduce the risk of unauthorised use and improve licence integrity.

As part of a staged rollout, all current licence holders will automatically receive a replacement physical card. There are no changes to licence classes, conditions, entitlements, or digital licences. Both the existing and new card formats will remain valid in workplaces until further notice.

What Licence Holders Need To Do

Nothing at this stage. WorkSafe will issue the new cards automatically and will provide further information when the transition is complete.
